Mohave Turquoise Sterling Silver Pendant

The native Americans of the Mohave Desert have long used their Turquoise as a protective stone against accidents and misfortune, and as a way of connecting to the Sky God and the infinity of creation. The metal work on this pendant evokes thoughts of a traditional protective amulet.

Mohave Turquoise is the trade name for a type of turquoise that is treated by a process pioneered and exclusively authorised by the Kingman Mine in Arizona. This treatment stabilises and hardens the stone. The blue colouring is the natural turquoise colour, but artificially produced purples and greens exist.

It measures 4.9cm in length from the top of the bail to the bottom.
